The new gSENS LWG length/angle sensor for mobile cranes extends this successful product series to ensure safe, reliable use of new and older machines. This latest-generation sensor replaces previous types (also for the PAT brand) one-to-one with up to 25-year backward compatibility – this means 100% electrical and mechanical compatibility with all gSENS LWG types 15x/ 2xx/ 3xx/ 5xx.
Developed on the basis of our customers’ experience and requirements, the new gSENS LWG attains a new dimension of safety and is fit for the future. The data transmission via CANopen Safety meets the latest safety requirements – also for the types gSENS LWG 92x and 95x. Further safety-related features include the output of functionally reliable signal values, reliable switching outputs for directly controlling actuators, an improved safety chain and functional reliability in acc. with current standards EN 13849, PL d/Cat.3.
The new gSENS LWG is even more robust and provides optimized integration making this a cost-effective solution for both new and existing cranes. The switchover of already-launched machine series can be completed without any design or mechanical changes. This ensures simple and safe installation on existing machines. In the field, the sensor is protected against failures and undesired external effects by state-of-the-art hardware components along with robust electrical connections. The slipring bodies are gold-alloy-plated and redundant. If parts need to be serviced, the service can be carried out quickly and easily by the user:

On the software level, the focus is also on proven communication and fault responses. This ensures that new adaptations to the control system are not necessary. With the same object dictionary for the CANopen interface, compatible fault behavior and guaranteed compatibility with the controller, the next generation of gSENS LWG can be easily integrated into existing systems.
