The 2010s are drawing to a close. Time flies fast, but the past 10 years have seen a multitude of technical innovations – from the first tablets to the latest social media channels. Likewise, the WIKA Mobile Control team constantly worked on mobile machine innovations. Before we end an eventful decade, it’s a good time to look back on the milestones of recent years.
The 2010s began with the launch of an entire product series. Since 2010, the iSCALE Control System – consisting of cSCALE controllers, qSCALE load moment indication and vSCALE consoles – enables the integration of safety and machine control functions. With its modular design, the iSCALE Control System can be adapted to a huge variety of customer-specific applications. Control systems and load moment limitation for mobile machines has never been more versatile.
Load moment limitation for telescopic cranes became very compact in 2013. qSCALE Ix, a particularly user-friendly system for load moment indication, was launched to the market, consisting of a vSCALE console with an integrated LMI and the needed sensors. This system brought with it a strong advantage: simplified calibration and simple configuration without programming.
In the years 2015 and 2016, the focus was on safety. In addition to the fSENS force sensors, the cSCALE S6 controller was certified by TÜV in accordance with EN 13849 PL d and IEC 62061 SIL2 – that’s the trueSafety safety standard from WIKA Mobile Control.
WIKA Mobile Control was founded in 2018 – and celebrated its 50th anniversary the same year. Since January 1, 2018, WIKA Mobile Control has been part of the WIKA Group – the world's leading company in pressure, temperature, level, force and flow measurement technology. The former Hirschmann Mobile Machine Control Solutions (MCS) became WIKA Mobile Control – and a strategic reinforcement of the WIKA Group in the system solutions business.
The year 2019 was marked by a large number of product innovations. For example, the new vSCALE D6 console came out – the largest HMI in the vSCALE series to date with a 12" display diagonal. In addition to the new DWG 11 and 21 rotary encoders with innovative magnetic measuring technology, the new generation of cable reels now complements the product portfolio in geometric sensor technology. Finally, with the cSCALE S9, WIKA Mobile Control presented a mobile controller with high computing power and energy storage permanently integrated in the CPU.
